Fujitsu is using the LED grow light to cultivate the vegetables and other plants

Recently, the Japanese major electronics companies using the LED grow light to cultivate the vegetables and other plants is particularly noticeable. One of the representatives of enterprises is Fujitsu.  The company has concluded the food and agriculture as one of the key areas of cloud services business and began offering Agriculture and Food cloud services “Akisai (autumn color).”, the company increased production management system that can meticulously manage the outcomes and growth information of plant factory in the Akisai on July 2014.

  

With the help of LED grow light，Fujitsu set up a “Aizu Wakamatsu Akisai vegetable plants “to verify Akisai effect in Fukushima Aizu Wakamatsu City, by taking advantage of LED grow light and other agricultural technology and experience owned by the processing company located in the city of Aizu Fuji is to cultivate the hypokalemic lettuce for kidney patients and other people. The major feature of the plant is the use of semiconductor clean room previously unused. Fujitsu said, “Thanks to the LED grow light，the number of bacteria is much less than those cultivated in normal environment, which can produce the vegetables that can be stored longer.”

In addition to the use of idle facilities，the plant factory heavily adopted the agricultural management techniques particularly semiconductor LED grow light. Therefore, Fujitsu appointed the technical staff who are previously responsible for the semiconductor production to serve the person in charge of production management of Aizu Wakamatsu Akisai vegetable plants. In the future, Fujitsu intends to use Akisai including LED grow light to cultivate crop.
